PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY given to the electors of the City of Prince Rupert that an election by voting is necessary to elect six (6) Councillors, and six (6) School Trustees, and that the persons nominated as candidates and for whom votes will be received are:

SEPTEMBER 21st, 2018 – PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – I, Corinne Bomben, Chief Election Officer for the City of Prince Rupert, do hereby declare, pursuant to section 98 of the Local Government Act the following candidate elected by acclamation:

City crews will be replacing a sewer main on 10th Street between Beach Place and Water Street starting early next week. The replacement will be manhole to manhole across the street, and 10th Street will remain closed for the duration of construction. The anticipated construction timeline is 4-6 weeks. Residents in direct proximity who enter their property from 10th Street will be impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your patience. 

The 2018 tax sale will be held on Monday September 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers. Properties offered at the 2018 property sale are those for which there are taxes outstanding since 2016. Not all properties listed in the advertisement will be available on September 24th as in some case the taxes will be paid in the interim.
