PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Residents will soon notice a different mode of transportation going to and from the Digby Island Ferry terminal. The Digby Island Ferry will depart Prince Rupert on Thursday March 28th for Victoria for its 3 year scheduled refit to ensure long-term maintenance of this critical transportation link.

The City of Prince Rupert will begin our Spring street sweeping program starting March 25th. City crews are currently cleaning sanding materials off sidewalks on all Priority One routes in preparation for the broader street program. Residents are reminded to help ensure sweeping is effective and efficient by keeping roadways clear of parked vehicles and any other obstructions. By doing this we can avoid having missed spots in your neighbourhood.
MARCH 15th, 2019 – PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Northern Health has determined that the City has now met criteria to completely remove the Water Quality Advisory, which means that all Prince Rupert users may now drink the tap water without boiling it.

MARCH 11th, 2019 – PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – The City’s Economic Development Office is now accepting applications for our 2019 intake for Business Façade funding to local businesses to complete exterior improvements. Businesses can apply to the program for joint funding to complete outer business enhancements, with the aim of better the aesthetic quality of the community’s primary retail areas of Downtown and Cow Bay.
